Carbon Credit Generation Projects

Development of carbon credit projects (REDD, ARR and WRC) and execution of projects with CCB

Study of Decarbonization Strategies

Carbon credits serve to offset emissions, but another important front in combating climate change is the reduction of emissions, which can be achieved through actions to decarbonize the activities and operations of companies of all sizes

Greenhouse Gas Inventory

This type of study is the first step in the process of decarbonization and offsetting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions

With the GHG inventory, the emissions of each of the scopes are quantified and, in addition to knowing how much carbon is emitted, it is clear which the champion emission activities are

Why It Is Important

Climate change is a reality and its catastrophic consequences are increasingly noticeable by society. Mitigating the effects of climate change is an urgent task.

One of the actions, therefore, is the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, such as Carbon dioxide.

The carbon market was developed to support projects that maintain carbon stocks or remove carbon from the atmosphere, financed by companies that emit a lot of GHG.

Market Landscape

The carbon market was born and strengthened in transactions between countries, due to its international commitments. However, the great strength of the carbon market today is the voluntary commitment of companies and organizations concerned about the future of the planet and their reputation with public opinion. In this way, the voluntary market, which is one that does not depend on government rules to exist, is the one that moves the trade of carbon credits the most.

There are several scopes within the carbon market. What Geonoma operates, and which Brazil has the greatest vocation for, is the scope called Nature-Based Solution (NBS).

Carbon Market

The NBS-type carbon credit market has great opportunities in Brazil. Firstly because of the large extensions of forests threatened by deforestation. Secondly, the need for restoration (re-creation of forests) in degraded areas. And the potential for changes in agricultural practices to increase carbon stocks in productive areas.

The market is quite recent and is in a frank maturing process. However, it has the advantage of having very clear rules and instances of self-control that give a lot of solidity and prospects for growth. Geonoma is a very important player in the carbon market and works with the commitment to increase and ensure the integrity of all projects and credits we produce.

CONCREMAT

REDD Jurisdicional do Tocantins

We calculated the activity data and emission factors for deforestation and degradation within the entire territory of Tocantins and prepared the Verification and Reporting Measurement report.

Giant Trees of the Tumucumaque Mountains National Park

Geonoma allocated 5 hectares of permanent plots for study by the University of Exeter and partners to monitor and understand more about these large specimens, such as the angelins.

RPPN Parque Levantina Management Plan

Development of the Management Plan for the RPPN Levantina Park, located in Monte Verde

Environmental Programs for Highway Duplication Works SP-318

Execution of environmental programs related to the physical, biotic and social environment and duplication works of Highway

Quantification of carbon sequestration in restoration plantations

We quantified the carbon sequestration carried out and the potential of voluntary plantations to offset GHG emissions emitted by the ALD fleet.

Technical and economic modeling of Brazil’s first Ecological Restoration Concession

Geonoma participated in the construction of the technical and economic model of the First Ecological Restoration Concession of Brazil, which will be held in the Triunfo do Xingu Environmental Protection Area, being responsible for the aspects of forest restoration, generation of carbon credits and sustainable economic forestry activities.

Projeto REDD+ Miridan Conservation Project

REDD+ project under development by Geonoma considering APD and AUD methods.
