Technical and economic modeling of Brazil’s first Ecological Restoration Concession

Geonoma participated in the construction of the technical and economic model of the First Ecological Restoration Concession of Brazil, which will be held in the Triunfo do Xingu Environmental Protection Area, being responsible for the aspects of forest restoration, generation of carbon credits and sustainable economic forestry activities.

This is an unprecedented initiative that enables large-scale restoration, recovery of degraded areas and, in return, the winning company will be able to explore forest products and generate carbon credits. The notice foresees up to 40 years for the restoration of a public area of 10,300 ha, illegally deforested, in Altamira (PA).

This project was led by The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and executed in partnership with a large team, composed of the Secretary of State for Environment and Sustainability (SEMAS), Ideflor-bio, Vallya, Maciel Rocha Advogados, Plantuc – Projetos Socioambientais.
